Wollongong artist, producer and multi-instrumentalist Stevan has had a very big 2020 with the release of his debut mixtape ‘Just Kids’ seeing his status rise at a rapid rate, and now the young artist follows up strongly with his second mixtape in ‘Ontogeny’.
‘Ontogeny’ sees Stevan collaborating with LUCIANBLOMKAMP (6LACK, Mallrat) as well as the creative direction of Michael Dole (Flume, The Avalanches), resulting in an increased sense of comfortability within his own sound of alternative/R&B influence. Featuring across the seven individual tracks is a colourful balance of organic instrumentation with the breezy guitars combining with the reverberating beats that sets the soundscape up for Stevan‘s laid-back melodies that float majestically above the mix.
“If Just Kids was my journey from a child to a teenager, Ontogeny is a transition from a teenager into a young adult. I think the project highlights many of my fears and imperfections and each song builds on my character, showing growth and development not only sonically but personally too.” – Stevan
