As the world goes deeper into self-isolation, it is important to keep the lines of communication open and continue to support each other as much as we possibly can.
Acid Stag has launched a new series titled “CABIN FEVER” where we ask artists from all over the world to give us some insight into how self-isolation has affected their creativity and mental health, and also ask what they have/will be doing to keep their sanity and creativity flowing through these difficult times.
We’re checking in today with US producer/DJ Whethan!

What is your current situation; are you at home alone, with family, or friends?
Whethan: Lately I’ve been hanging at home in Los Angeles with a couple roommates who also do music. It’s definitely nice having other creative energy around you, especially during a quarantine.
Have you been dealing with any mental health issues as a result of this isolation?
Whethan: Luckily I haven’t been struggling too much mentally. I’ve actually been feeling pretty great and focused despite the current situation.
What have you been doing to manage your mental state (e.g. meditation, yoga, writing music etc).
Whethan: I haven’t been doing anything that crazy to keep my mind healthy. I have been going on lots of walks however. Occasionally I’ll go for a run which I find is great for clearing your head.
Have you tried collaborating with other artists online, and if that is a yes, do you feel this has helped you feel less isolated & confined?
Whethan: I have done a couple sessions online over Zoom, one being with The Wombats, but I haven’t really been doing too many collaborations lately. I’ve been spending most of my time diving deeper into my own music and trying to perfect/evolve my sound.
What is your go-to track for ‘Feeling Good’?
Whethan: My go to song right now is ‘Sleep Sound’ by Jamie xx. This is such a soothing song for me and I feel like it’s really helpful to enjoy pleasant music in times like these. It’s also beautifully produced so it’s fun to listen to.
Make sure you check out Whethan‘s latest single ‘So Good’ (feat. bülow) which is out now via Atlantic Records.
