CABIN FEVER with Made In Paris

As the world goes deeper into self-isolation, it is important to keep the lines of communication open and continue to support each other as much as we possibly can.

Acid Stag has launched a new series titled “CABIN FEVER” where we ask artists from all over the world to give us some insight into how self-isolation has affected their creativity and mental health, and also ask what they have/will be doing to keep their sanity and creativity flowing through these difficult times.

Today we’re checking in with Australian producer Made In Paris!

What is your current situation; are you at home alone, with family, or friends?
MIP: I live in an apartment with a friend in south Sydney. I’m producing music at home most days and she is still working so we have a nice balance and get along very well 🙂

Have you been dealing with any mental health issues as a result of this isolation?
MIP: Isolation has definitely taken a toll on my mental health. Being a sufferer of anxiety and at times depression, it has heightened these things . But I have learnt a lot of ways to deal with these feeling and emotions over the years and i’m implementing them more so than ever at the moment.

What have you been doing to manage your mental state (e.g. meditation, yoga, writing music etc).
MIP: Almost every morning of the week i’ve been getting up for a morning walk along the beach, watching the sunrise whilst enjoying a coffee. This ritual is such a good way to start the day and it puts me in a place of gratitude. I also enjoy going for a run when i’m feeling restless and yoga/meditation as a grounding tool.

Have you tried collaborating with other artists online, and if that is a yes, do you feel this has helped you feel less isolated & confined?
MIP: I currently am and it’s so great to be able to connect with artists online still. Even though this is something artists have already been doing prior to the pandemic I think people will utilise this option a lot more in the future.

Do you have any words of wisdom that you would like to share with fellow artists and your fans?
MIP: Set yourself up some goals that you can achieve daily in your current situation but know that it’s okay that you may not be getting as much done as you were prior to this. We need to be kind to ourselves as we might be having more shit days than normal but thats okay. This is a first for most of us. Keep in touch with friends/family daily <3

What is your “go-to” song right now?
MIP: Tim Green – Vacation to Life

Make sure you check out Made In Paris‘ latest single ‘Glad I Met You’ (with Juliet Fox) which is out now!
