There have been quite a few songs released during isolation, but none of them are as interesting as Oscar Key Sung’s latest release ‘Stones In My Net’. This track makes me feel a lot of things because it’s hauntingly beautiful and a little bit sexy. The melody is minimal, but that doesn’t mean it won’t affect you.
‘Stones In My Net’ has a slow tempo leading a soft bass line on its journey through ambient synths. These synths are so subtle, so delicate, it almost feels like smoke because they’re barely there, but you can still feel them hovering around very delicately. Airy vocals hover beneath the first chorus, like ghosts whispering your ear and rushing water flows through the second verse, elevating the whole atmosphere of the track and giving it some interesting texture. Just when you think you have a grasp on what kind of feel ‘Stones In My Net’ has, it throws you somewhere else.
There are so many layers to this song, but by far the most intoxicating piece of this puzzle is Oscar Key Sung’s soulful vocals. The harmonies are simply incredible and the final notes at the end of the chorus give me chills. I’ve always been a fan of Oscar Key Sung’s vocals, but this song takes things to a whole new level. This isn’t just a great song, ‘Stones In My Net’ is a piece of art, in the form of a track created in isolation.
