Following on from an impressive remix of The Aston Shuffle’s ‘Alpha Love’, Chicago producer Prov enlists the swagger of Clew for his latest offering ‘Zone’, a track which sees a unique combination of house & Caribbean influences that results in the perfect addition to any Sunday session playlist.
‘Zone’ commences the outpour of flavour immediately courtesy of the charismatic guest vocals of Samnelly that blend exceptionally with the colourful guitar riffs, and not to mention the rising percussion that create just the right amount of intrigue before smacking you in the face with copious amounts of character. As we move further through, we see the house influence become more apparent with an empowered kick drum breaking through the mix, combining with the deep bass-line that is heightened significantly through the implementation of Clew spitting pure fire across the mix.
What impresses with ‘Zone’ is Prov’s ability to delve into the realms of reprieve without compromising the overall dance feel that lies within the core of the track. It is within these moments that Prov manipulates the composition to subtly implement various elements such as delayed vocals and the riff within the keys that carry the latter half of ’Zone’, whilst showcasing an impressive depth in the musicianship to truly transport listeners into various dimensions simultaneously.
