Dro Carey is back and in action with feature artists Taliwhoah and Genesis Owusu. Shifting things up from his last release that was over a year ago, he brings us a song that sits somewhere between summer chilling and grimy warehouse, which is a really unique sound. The vocals flow with the track really well, offering the contrast of soulful female vocals and grimy male vocals, creating that interesting mix.
Having already copped a premiere on triple j’s ‘Goodnights’ program, the hype is most certainly already real. Having shifted labels last year to Soothsayer Records seems to have opened up Dro Carey’s creative side a bit, and pushed him to shift the boundaries more and more.
According to him and his label, this is merely the start of a very large year in terms of music, one that we’ll be excited to follow.
