I can honestly say I didn’t know too much about Brisbane four-piece Cub Sport until a few weeks ago. I caught their set at BIGSOUND in Brisbane and was really impressed by their performance, which I remember had me thinking they were a good mix of St. Lucia and Hercules & Love Affair.
The band mentioned they had a new album on the way very soon which already peeked my attention, but then when chatting to friends about seeing them the next day, I was told the story behind the new album which was that after being best mates for eight years, Cub Sport members Tim Nelson and Sam Netterfield fell in love, and then got engaged!
