2017 is LANY’s year. If you’re only new to discovering this LA band then you have a lot to catch up on, but let’s start with the biggest news of their career to date. They have just dropped their debut self-titled album and I could not be prouder. I’ve followed this trio from day one and this is a truly incredible body of work.
Now the album is released, I hope we see some visuals to accompany the tracks. First off, we have the ‘Good Girls’ music video, which was only shot a few weeks ago. It shows lead singer Paul Klein walking the streets of LA with that hint of a glistening glow to his face. With his hair pulled back in a simple black tee, the man looks damn fine. Jeepers!
It is very much a modern-day take on the ‘Bitterweet Symphony’ video cutting between a determined stride through the streets and driving around searching for something or someone. Next time you need a passenger Paul, I’m free!
“‘Good Girls’ addresses the emotions of disappointment and unmet expectations battling against unconditional love and second/infinite chances. Considering the narrative of the ‘ilysb’ music video, I thought it’d be cool to set up the storyline of this specific song as a potential prequel. Watch ’til the end,” Klein said.
The boys are about the head back on a European tour but not before they grace us with their presence at Splendour in the Grass. You gotta see them live, and now with their brand new album being released, you know their set is going to be intimate and raw. I cannot wait!
