Let me just start by saying that I think Field Day is easily one of the best one-day festivals to attend; I always get a good vibe from the crowd, the weather is usually really hot & sweaty, there’s always a killer line-up and it’s just such a great way to bring in the new year!
I was a little bit late getting in this year but I did manage to catch the end of Tyler Touché before making my way over to The Island stage for SAFIA, and that’s where I began to settle in for a long day of festival shenanigans.
As usual the SAFIA boys put on a great show, and the crowd was loving every minute of it. After there I did a fair bit of stage-hopping; I hovered around the back of the Centre Field stage for a bit of Skepta (which I wasn’t really getting into), then slid around the back of that one to the Left Field stage for a bit Sam Feldt (which was a lot of fun), then back to Centre Field for some RL Grime. After that I bounced between Seth Troxler and Pusha T before settling back in at the Centre Field for Golden Features, and we had a whole lot of fun during that set.
It’s always so easy to get around Field Day, so there was a lot of stage-hopping throughout the rest of the day as well. I managed to squeeze in Luke Million, Flight Facilities, Snakehips, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Boys Noize & Disclousre, but my absolute favourites for the day where I had the most fun would have to be SAFIA, Flight Facilities, Snakehips and Disclosure – thank you, thank you, thank you for putting on such great shows guys!
And a massive thanks to Fuzzy of course for hosting such a great day.
If you’ve never been to Field Day before, make 2017 your year to try it out – and I’ll see you there!
