I think my friends finally like me again this year. Why? This year I actually started listening to sounds other than electro again. How could I not with some of the rock, R’n’B and indie ear candy released this year??
Don’t get me wrong, electro still dominated my ears with Jamie XX, Disclosure and Hermitude somewhere around my brain waves just about every day since they’ve released their respective albums. That said, I couldn’t ignore Tame Impala, The Weeknd or Foals this year. Florence + the Machine made a glorious return, and Jarryd James‘ debut is still giving me goosebumps.
I’ll give a head nod for honourable mentions to Roland Tings, Alpine, Fyfe and Sufjan Stevens who were tough to leave out, but here’s my top ten for 2015.
