Waking up on January 1st this year I was fresh, well slept and ready to take on everything Field Day 2015 had to offer – same time 12 months ago was like the total opposite…
We arrived just in time for MØ who was my highlight of the entire day. She moves around the stage like she owns it, and for that 40mins or so it was hers. Watching as she rocked-out to her band with some dorky dances moves and her killer voice was an ideal start to the day. After MØ finished up we went for a wonder to get our bearings and grab some water (it was an extremely hot day), and on our travels we were drawn to the Centre Field by the echoing sounds Salt n Pepa. There was nothing mind blowing going on here, but that was by no means a bad thing. The ladies were doing what they do best and they had the crowd moving, shaking and singing along to some good old favourites.
The rest of the day was spent moving from stage to stage, trying to catch a tiny piece of some of my must sees, and the ones I did manage to get around to were well worth the efforts; Glass Animals –> Friend Within –> Tycho –> Golden Features –> The Kite String Tangle –> Kaytranada –> RÜFÜS before finishing up our day at the Left Field stage for Tensnake and Todd Terje.
Field Day 2015 was one of my favourites in a while. They had a stellar line-up, the weather was hot & sweaty (just as it should be in the middle of an Aussie summer) and the crowd was also in high spirits – I even made some new friends!
