Melbourne/Naarm-based producer IsGwan continues to turn heads with another captivating display of melodic/UKG-inspired goodness through new single ‘All That You Want’, a tantalising affair in which we are left mesmerized by the pristine production on offer throughout its duration.
‘All That You Want’ grabs your attention from the outset through the centralised nature of the UKG groove held in the percussion, becoming the driver for change and intensification throughout the journey. With razor-sharp synths bringing plenty of strength alongside the emphatic bass lines, ‘All That You Want’ hypnotises the listener with this addictive blend of instrumentation that is taken that little bit extra further by those haunting vocal samples scattered throughout.
“I wrote the track in early/mid 2024. I had been listening to a lot more melodic dance music such as Caribou, Dusky, Denham Audio and Fourtet and was keen to bring a bit more musicality into my tracks. Most of my tracks so far have been more club focussed which I love, but with this tune and the rest of the EP I tried to create tracks that hold up in the club while still being good to listen to no matter the context. I was also keen to try to break out of the typical ABAB (intro-drop-breakdown-drop) structure of dance music and have a bit more development of parts throughout. I guess I tried to draw from classical music structures where there are recurring motifs which are presented then experimented and developed throughout the duration :)” – Isgwan
