Over the last couple of months Australian producer JAKKA has given us a few very impressive singles while also making promise of an ep coming our way soon.
He’s making good on that promise this week with this four-track collection titled “Torn” which has exceeded all of my expectations. This ep is a true showcase of JAKKA’s versatility as a producer and songwriter, as he constructs these vast landscapes of atmospheric/garage-house electronica that are so very easy to get lost in.
“The purpose of this body of work was to find myself sonically and have something to show and say this is what I’m about, which inevitably forced me to look inward – what I liked, what moved me, what made me happy/sad. Turns out I have a deep love for my childhood innocence, and it was the feeling I wanted to tap into with each song. At its core, these tracks are really all about growth.
