New Zealand artist CHASE WOODS invites us all into a deep and personal tale of emotion, love and pain through a diverse range of sounds and influence in his new EP ‘Terrace End Tapes’, a five-track release that grabs your attention immediately with its free-flowing nature.

‘Terrace End Tapes’ carries forth an uptempo flow throughout its duration, utilising the backdrop of hip-hop & R&B soundscapes to deliver a concise groove that is further accentuated by the uplifting melodies that sway in and out of both singing and rapping with absolute ease. Woods carefully allows plenty of room for the crisp instrumentation to stand tall in the backdrop all while the commanding vocals deliver the pure emotion and passion through each individual lyric.

“Roaches is a song that tells you how far I’ve come from my upbringing which is reflected in the hook, “Roaches on the dresser to smoking out the windows of the Tesla”. Although I’m far from where I want to be, this song is like a checkpoint. The song has reggae elements that take me back to my childhood and I think that’s why it’s one of my favourite songs on the EP. Shush and I really tapped into a whole new level that we never thought we’d reach, so now, I’m excited for what’s to come”. – CHASE WOODS
