Over the last few months we’ve been blown away by the exceptional releases from Eora-based producer, songwriter and DJ Ninajirachi all in the anticipation of her latest project to drop, and fans have finally gotten what they’ve been begging for in ‘Second Nature’, a twelve-track mixtape that covers a significant amount of ground within the electronic music realm whilst depicting an introspective journey within her own growth as a person and artist.

Including mammoth singles ‘Start Small’, ‘Petroleum’, ‘Hidden Land (ft. Raj Mahal)’, ‘X33 (with Kenta204)’, ‘One Long Firework In The Sky (with Montaigne)’ and ‘Crush Me (ft. Kota Banks)’, Ninajirachi continues to build from the emphatic groundwork already set and showcases the tools in her artillery with plenty of pristine production and adaptability within various shades of the electronic realm that is a true testament to her artistry. ‘Second Nature’ contrasts between moments of emphatic energy in the instrumentation on offer such as the blistering bass and drum presence in the high-octane tracks with the more mellowed and brighter offerings that showcases plenty of colour and passion throughout the already vibrant soundscapes on offer.

“Second Nature means an instinctive habit (like music-making), but also ‘nature 2.0’, an idea that continuously inspires my work from the sonic palette to the cover art, which features android me in an android tree.” Nina reflects. “I am the chief architect of my world and write, record, and produce most things 100% myself using just my laptop. It becomes an extension of myself and makes me feel pretty mech which is cool because my brain is just an organic, super-advanced computer after all and it’s only a matter of time before machines catch up”. – Ninajirachi
