Sydney-based electronic artist JAKKA delivers a deep and murky offering filled with darkened electronic influence through his new single ‘Sense of Self’, the first glimpse off a forthcoming EP ‘Torn’ to be released next year which showcases plenty of garage-styled groove and eclectic instrumentation compiled for a thrilling journey.

JAKKA lures you into his swirling and warped world in the early stages with the striking synths buoyantly moving across the mix all while the keys and vocal samples add further intrigue to the spectrum. It doesn’t take long for that addictive deep groove to make its presence felt in the backdrop, coming through with plenty of punch and vigour alongside the brooding bass that allows for that darkened colour palate to take control and drive the gripping narrative home.

“’Sense of Self’ was developed at a local park whilst simply observing all that went on…The music that was coming out felt very fitting to the clear skies and subtle bird noises happening around me. When listening to the track the almost hypnotic piano gives off a strong sense of nostalgia for early childhood where everything was new and the worries of the world cease to exist and I hope that is received by the listeners too.” – JAKKA
