Over the last few weeks 1tbsp has given us two exceptional new singles – ‘Joan’ and ‘2007’ – while also making promise of a new four-track ep titled “Joan” coming our way very soon.

This week he is giving us the ep’s next offering, a bouncy energising release called ‘Seasons’ which features the voice of Brisbane/Meanjin artist Squidgenini, and it was also co-written with Allan McConnell (of Close Counters) and Nick Ward.

I was able to meet Bella (Squidgenini) through booking her for the first Sumoclic Night (a monthly club night I threw last year in Brisbane) and was blown away by her taste and artistry. This track started as a half idea I made with Allan (from Close Counters) and I showed Bella and then we both started trying ideas on top. She wrote a poem inspired by the sound which became the verses and I finished off the song with some modular synth recordings sent to me from Nick Ward.” ~ 1tbsp

Squidgenini adds; “Seasons is about surrendering to the flow of the journey. Relaxing into the hibernation of one’s internal winter and the reflections gained from that space.”

‘Seasons’ is available everywhere now via sumoclic and stay tuned for the “Joan” ep which is set for release on December 1st (presave here).
