Philadelphian artist Villows provides us with a mesmerising glimpse of his forthcoming ‘Dreams’ EP through a brand new single titled ‘Lucid’, an indulgent touch of ambient/chill-electronic that provides listeners with a perfect podium for tranquility as well as liveliness in this contrasting tale of imagination that can be likened to Shallou and Yoste.
‘Lucid’ provides plenty of space for atmospheric bliss with the echoed pianos setting the tone amongst the lower register vocals and guitars which collectively builds the emotional narrative perfectly. However, Villows wastes minimal time in getting the groove implemented in the groove as we soon arrive at the chorus which provides plenty of uplift in the percussion, which is further heightened by the vibrancy of the synths and bass ensuring the platform for movement is in tact.
