The Presets Return to Club 77 with Smirnoff Origins cln – Over, All Again (LP) HUMP DAY MIX with Movada Dull Reality – ‘Pragmatica’ [Premiere] narou – ‘running in circles’ 1tbsp – Joan (EP)

We’re getting closer and closer to hearing the sophomore album next month from What So Not, and until then he keeps on delivering delicious ear worms for us all to devour with the monster release of ‘On Air’, an emphatic single which sees an all star collaborative list of Louis The Child, Captain Cuts and JRM on board for the energetic ride.

‘On Air’ packs in a significant amount of energy within its duration, subtly rising from the surface in the initial stages where What So Not builds the intensity through the commanding vocals to lead us in to the blistering chorus filled with soaring synths, emphatic beats and resounding bass that sets the mix into overdrive with its sheer force. With a swift pullback in the latter stages, we are given a momentary reprieve that showcases the masterful production skills of the Australian producer right before he pulls us back in for the powerful ending the track deserves.

“The easiest way to describe On Air is: it’s like Disney, it’s very unpretentious, very fun and channelling those ‘dancing in the sky’ kinda moments. I don’t usually write this happy, bubbly upbeat stuff, it’s always brooding and moody, but this time it felt so authentic – it felt inner childlike, so I went with it”. – What So Not
