Munan is a new project from South Korean-Australian artist Peter Lee who is making a unique blend of alternative rock music with indie-pop elements which can be likened to a mix between Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Toro Y Moi and Tame Impala.

In 2013, Peter moved from Canberra to Seoul and made a name himself in Korea’s music-scene as one-half of a pop duo called Chimmi, while also producing music for some of Korea’s major label acts including Super Junior and Day 6.

Over the last few months Peter has been busy working on his own solo music and is very excited to launch his Munan project this week with his debut single ‘Your Life’, which as he reveals below actually started as a disco funk track before morphing into the indie-rock gem it is today. It also comes with a positive message of making the most of each & every moment.

“My first single is a mix of soft rock and indie pop, which actually started out as a disco beat with a funky bassline. The track is layered with simple ambient guitars and synths, as well as some 12-string guitar which were all recorded in my one-bedroom studio.

The song is about enjoying your own company and following your dreams. It tells people to never give up and to love each & every moment of their life.” ~ Munan
