My Playlist is a series where we ask some of our favourite artists to share some of their favourite songs, and while it may give us a bit of insight into some of their influences, we’re actually more interested to know what they enjoy listening to when they’re not making music.

Over the last few months German producer Satin Jackets has given us a nice little collection of singles that we’ve had on constant rotation. I was hoping there would be some bigger news coming our way soon and just last Friday he announced he’ll be releasing a whole new album on August 26th titled “Reunion” (presave here) and I really wanted to check in with the man himself to see what sort of music he was listening throughout the album’s writing process.

He’s also just announced a bunch of North American dates alongside Dam-Funk which is happening throughout September – check those dats below then click here for ticketing info

“A few days back, I saw a post on Instagram from a young woman who tagged SJ. She wrote that she got home distressed and whenever that happened, she put on a certain mixtape I had made years ago just to feel something. I was humbled. After all, that’s what it’s all about in the end, isn’t it? I put things to the test and listened to the entire mix again. Still works. I recommend giving it a try.” ~ Satin Jackets
