It’s been a little while since we’ve heard from UK-born/LA-based producer Jackal, but this week that all changes with the release of the dark and powerful new single ‘I Want To Destroy Something Beautiful’, a menacing multi-genre release that sees the vocal expertise of Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Roniit for a magnetising performance.

‘I Want To Destroy Something Beautiful’ lures you into the soundscape with much intrigue in the beginning passages of the release, whereby the murkiness of the restrained synths and pads is slowly rising to the surface all whilst Roniit‘s captivating tones send shivers down our spine. Once we arrive at the chorus, we are met with a mammoth shift in intensity and a surge of energy smashes through our speakers with those buzzing synths and strengthened trap beats hit the mix with a dominating presence.

“‘I Want To Destroy Something Beautiful’ comes from a bitter place. For weeks and weeks, I was pissed off at the world and feeling vengeful. Over the course of this time, I aimed to make something that sounded like the end of everything. I told Roniit my thoughts and the title that I had in mind, and she worked around that. I really like how her voice brought a certain numbness to the track, which works really well with the production.” – Jackal
