Australian dance duo HI MOTIVE might be new to the scene but they’re already making some big waves. They have a sound that can be likened to a mix between Hayden James, Set Mo and RÜFÜS DU SOL, but they do also have a certain quality all to their own and that quality really shines through on their latest offering ‘Stranger’.

“‘Stranger’ is a story of detaching and letting go of the past. It’s about the defiant emotion we often express when trying to convince ourselves that we’ve made the right decision when releasing ourselves from something or someone. It’s about taking past problems and throwing them into the wind. We wanted to make a song that talked about this unglamorous feeling, but one that had an overwhelming take-home feeling of positivity. Estranging yourself from something already has so many negative associations with it, so we wanted to show that it can also be healthy. Sometimes it can be the best decision for yourself and helps to break you away from the damaging parts of your world.” – HI MOTIVE
