Over the last few months Australian duo Abroad, aka Jack Dawson and Will Cruger, have given us two very cool singles – ‘Go Where You Go’ & ‘Coffee’ – while also hinting at more new music coming our way very soon, and this week they are excited to announce they will be releasing their debut album in July.
Today they’re also giving us another little taste of what we can expect from that album with the invigorating sounds of new single ‘Air’ which we have the privilege of premiering. Fans of RÜFÜS DU SOL, Cassian and Set Mo are going to really enjoy Abroad’s summery feels and bouncing baselines.
“Air was a team effort. I came up with the chord progressions on an old piano for the verse and then a few lyrics at the start. Will then took it away and created the ever-so-catchy chorus. It all fell into place quite organically and together they create a song that can play in your mind all day, everyday. Which we hope is a good thing. Air is about a relationship and the early stages of something special, feeling like you need to be around someone like you need oxygen. That feeling is like nothing else in the world.” – Abroad
