Australian duo BANTA. are coming back to us this week with a great new song called ‘IDK’ which has them teaming up with fellow Melbanian Jay Zayat and together they’ve created this wonderfully sublime R&B treat that is said to be an exploration into the vulnerability and inability to understand one’s feelings in a modern day complicated love interest.
BANTA. also give us some insight into the creative process behind the song, how organically it all came together and how special it still felt to them months after recording it.
“We wrote IDK in a moment of creative clarity. The beat and vocal all come together in around an hour. Jay had a relationship story he wanted to tell and we brought together an ambient r’n’b soundscape to match the mood. We couldn’t stop replaying the track for months after, it’s definitely a special one for us.” – BANTA.
