It’s been a while since we last heard from Philadelphia-born/Los Angeles based producer Louis Futon, but he’s now making up for lost time with an eclectic range of influence and sound in his brand new LP ‘Couchsurfing’, an eighteen-track journey filled with colour that takes a deep dive into the worlds of funk, soul, R&B and hip-hop and results in one of the most appealing releases we’ve seen this year.

Reflecting on a time whereby he was couchsurfing during his move from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, Louis Futon brings forth a mammoth collection of sound throughout the LP that produces a copious amount of vibrancy and uplift with emphatic percussion and addictive bass lines which lay down the epic foundations for those splashes of energy from the featuring vocals, guitars, horns and synths here and there which keeps you on the edge of your seat not knowing what’s next.

“I’ve always felt like a creative nomad. It’s hard for me to commit to one style because I’m naturally enticed by so many different genres. I wanted to lean into my creative spontaneity and create a project that not only covers the whole spectrum of sounds I like to make, but also feels connected.” – Louis Futon
