Atlanta-based producer Paraleven combines forces with Melbourne multi-instrumentalist Fractures for a truly stunning journey filled with tantalising electronic instrumentation titled ‘Break Me Down’, the latest glimpse from Paraleven‘s forthcoming album ‘Apollo’ via RÜFÜS DU SOL‘s imprint ‘Rose Avenue’ that will leave you with goosebumps after your first listen.

‘Break Me Down’ builds through haunting pads and synths creating a near fog that scatters across the mix that sets the obscure scene in place, right before the rising kick drum and swirling arppegiation intertwines with Fractures‘ hazy melodies. Paraleven subtly builds the narrative as we progress through, with a copious amount of orchestral pads and synths creating a thickened cloud across the soundscape which immediately restrains itself back to a murky breakdown right before the intensification reaches its final climax and takes full flight with soaring synths blaring through with much force.

“‘Break Me Down’ is a very special song to me. One of those tracks that I expended a great deal of time and emotion. I fell in love with this progression in the beginning stages of the track and was able to wrap (what I consider to be) some of my best sound design around it. I wanted to create something beautifully hypnotic that doesn’t feel repetitive. Fractures did such an amazing job bringing this piece to life. He really captures the raw emotion I put into the production. The final product was a boundary pusher – and there are times I have listened to this that have actually ‘broken down’.” – Paraleven
