MY PLAYLIST is a series where we ask some of our favourite artists to share some of their favourite songs, and while it may give us a bit of insight into some of their influences, we’re actually more interested to know what they enjoy listening to when they’re not making music.

I’ve been a personal fan of Shallou for a few years now and I was very excited last week when he dropped his new single ‘Heartaches‘ which he co-wrote with another fave artist Elderbrook.

With his “The Long Way Home” tour kicking off in the US next month, and the fact he’s just signed to FADER, I’m certain we’ll be hearing more new music from Shallou very soon, but for now let’s take a look at some of the songs that trigger some deep emotions in him.

These are songs that give you the sense that all is right with the world, a feeling of existential hope. They feel like a scene at the end of a movie where a character makes a heroic sacrifice, or comes to a life-changing understanding. It’s a feeling that is difficult to put in words, but it’s the one I chase most often when I create music.” – Shallou
