Lemonade Baby is an Australian newcomer who makes alt-pop/indie-dance music which can be likened to a mix between Cut Copy, Oscar Key Sung and Benee, and his latest single ‘Is It Too Late’ is an impressive display his vibrant sound & style.

Lemonade Baby has teamed up with Mammal Sounds Records for his next single ‘Is It Too Late’, which as he explains below was written over a year ago and he’d actually lost it for a while before rediscovering it and thinking it could actually be a pretty decent release…

“This song started with a sample I was playing around with, which I thought was pretty cool. I then added the drums and the baseline, and when I woke up 4 hours later I gave it a beat and a loose melody…but then life got in the way.

I actually lost this song on my hard drive for close to a year and a half, but when I rediscovered it, I changed a few things and then started working on the lyrics, which took a long time for me to settle on. I found it hard to put into words how I was feeling at the time, but I did eventually get there.” – Lemonade Baby

‘Is It Too Late’ is a fun and uplifting song that exudes a warm and happy atmosphere, and when you hear that it was actually inspired by people like Cut Copy, Prince & Iggy Pop, it all starts to make so much sense, but as we delve deeper into the meaning behind the song we discover that it has a much darker but also positive message.

At the time I was revisiting Cut Copy’s album “Bright Like Neon Love” and listening to heaps of Prince and Iggy Pop.

Put simply, this song about the feeling of instant regret and the guilt you feel when you hurt someone you love. You wish you could undo what you said or done but you can’t. So, make sure you apologise when you’re wrong and understand that no-one is perfect, and people will fuck up!” – Lemonade Baby
