Berlin R&B artist Kean Farrar displays a confidence well beyond his years with the release of his debut EP ‘Suite Bittersweet’, a smooth collection of R&B and pop influence combining engaging lyricism with exuberant instrumentation which results in some breezy and carefree soundscapes on offer.
Drawing comparisons to the early days of Craig David and Mario, ‘Suite Bittersweet’ provides a lightness in its approach choosing not to jam-pack the mix and provide a simplistic yet soothing combination of pleasant acoustic guitars, polished drums and bass and hazy melodies that produce a dreamy platform for us to lose ourselves within.
“Suite Bittersweet is heavily inspired by the hedonistic nightlife here in Berlin…I wanted to give these four songs their own space to live in, which is Suite Bittersweet. Hotel rooms have something bittersweet about them, they look nice,but are temporary. I feel like the EP’s themes, the temporal aspect of excitement and thrill pertaining to new relationships, translate well into a hotel room environment.” – Kean Farrar
