HOUNDTRACK has returned in an emphatic fashion with the release of his new album ‘Last Chance At Life’, a ferocious ten-track release with buzzing electronic instrumentation tearing through your speakers to inject a mammoth amount of energy into your system.

Drawing influence from the likes of Flume and Rustie with an experimental approach to the instrumentation, HOUNDTRACK delivers a powerful blend of sparse synths, off-kilter beats and booming basses that intensify the soundscape to incredible heights. ‘Last Chance At Life’ provides an eclectic range of colour being splashed across the mix, with a wide range of samples and sounds utilised to keep you on the edge of your seat with its ever changing manner.

“For me, this project was an outlet during the intense isolation period of last year. I woke up most mornings, grabbed a cup of coffee, and opened up Ableton Live to experiment and get my emotions out. Heavily inspired by Flume’s ‘Hi This Is Flume’ mixtape, I sought out to create music that you could close your eyes and almost touch. I spent most of the year working on a visceral new way of mangling sounds and repurposing them into relatable feelings.

This album is the culmination of those experiments, which I tied together with a storyline about three friends who build their own spaceship to escape a dying Earth. Every two weeks I released a new song which was a chapter of the journey (which you can read on my website). On the tenth track, I released it how it was meant to be listened to, as a full story in album form: Last Chance At Life.” – Houndtrack
