Haitian band Lakou Mizik and Grammy-winning electronic music artist Joseph Ray combine forces for an extremely powerful and gripping collaboration titled ‘Lamizè Pa Dous’, the second glimpse from the ‘Leave the Bones’ album due for release in August that combines enchanting melodies with raw instrumentation that is as powerful as they come.
Centring the narrative around the astonishing vocals of Lakou Mizik, Ray manipulates the mix to grant a significant amount of space for the emotional narrative to take centre stage. With these melodies locking in our attention immediately, Ray amplifies the soundscape subtly through the use of brooding bass lines alongside the upbeat bongos and percussion and pristine harmonies that provide us with such enchantment it is so hard to resist.
