Jerry Folk and his side project FENGSEL continue to come through with some of the most unique and gripping narratives going around this year with ‘Ferris Well’, a multi-genre offering full of enticing lo-fi production and angelic vocals from Alva Ravn.
‘Ferris Wheel’ provides a vast openness through its atmospheric composition and widened instrumentation on offer, creating a tranquility and light-hearted manner that is further accentuated by the reverb-soaked percussion and mesmerising melodies of Ravn. With soaring synths and brooding pads rising into the climactic points of the piece, Folk provides momentary periods of reprieve with the nature samples and rawness of the guitars providing a sense of realness and relatability that strikes a chord with all in its path.
