Los Angeles songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist Max Leone continues to mount his case as one of the most promising acts in the alternative-pop scene with his debut EP ‘Malleable’ that pushes the realms of modern music by carefully intertwining acoustic instrumentation with an electronic edge.
Throughout the duration of ‘Malleable’, we see a lo-fi soundscape emerge from start to end through the use of the bright acoustic guitars combining with the brittle percussion that acts as a real point of difference in Leone’s compositions. Featuring dreamy melodies that provide plenty of uplift and charisma with their laid back approach, Max Leone maintains a carefully balance between calmness and groove that chooses not to overcomplicate things and just take it all within his stride.
“I titled the EP Malleable because I wrote it over the course of a year that stretched and warped my reality so much. It feels like an amalgamation of all these different emotions that I’ve been left to sit with without any significant distraction. I’m definitely coming out of the process of creating this project a totally different person than I was when I started.” – Max Leone
