2020 has been one of the most impactful years of the last century and its effect will be long spoken about in the years to come. For myself, I believe this year could be painted in a different way according to the person telling you their version of the story, however, my canvas is always painted by the music that gets me through each moment of the day. As the world forced us to take a step back from the chaos, I found myself digging deeper into the music archives, continuously looking for something to soundtrack my days in isolation.

I was super lucky to have so many great albums released this year by favourites of mine such as SAULT, Parcels and LEISURE, however, 2020 has introduced me to an array of new projects that I have become particularly attached to. I have some experimental solo projects from members of JUNGLE and BADBADNOTGOOD as well as one of the grooviest albums of the year from Khruangbin

I spent a majority of this year working on an album with my band daste., spending countless sessions in our Burleigh studio writing, producing and working on more music than I have in my life. As any musician can understand, endless hours working on music can make the thought of listening to Spotify really off putting. However, these albums provided me with an avenue to find zen, motivation and acted as a reminder of why I love to make music in the first place.
