Back in February French disco/dance overlord YUKSEK dropped a pretty great new album called “NOSSO RITMO” which is still on high-rotation over here at Acid Stag HQ (check out our review here).
There is a particular track on that album called ‘The Only Reason’ which features one of my other favourite disco-lords Breakbot, alongside his regular cohort Irfane, and this week YUKSEK is giving us this very cool music video for that track which has been put together using an assortment of footage from fans/friends/family as they bust out some whacky dance moves in the confines of their home – and it’s all for a good cause as well!
“My idea for that video was to ask my virtual friends and fans on socials to film themself on our song doing whatever they like, and bring all those confined people together in the video. As a Result; I got dance, animals, Skype sessions, bilboquet … in a hundred videos of all formats, quality, and coming from the four corners of the world (France, Japan, USA, Brazil, Italy).
I kept the soft-psychedelic video and collages art direction of my last videos to make everyone dance together in a world slowly won by nature. 4 minutes of pleasure, delirium, collective celebration, and simply life.
All the rights generated by the video on YouTube (Vevo) will be donated to a charity, the Secours Populaire.” – Yuksek
