As the world goes deeper into self-isolation, it is important to keep the lines of communication open and continue to support each other as much as we possibly can.

Acid Stag is launching a new series titled “CABIN FEVER” where we ask artists from all over the world to give us some insight into how self-isolation has affected their creativity and mental health, and also ask what they do have/will be doing to keep their sanity and creativity flowing through these difficult times, and we are extremely excited to be kicking it off today with one of our favourite Australian producers Luboku!

What is your current situation; are you at home alone, with family, or friends?

Luboku: I feel quite fortunate because I’m isolated on a family property about 3 hours out of Victoria, a short drive away from Wilson’s Prom. it’s an ideal spot to finish off some music and I’m looking at that in a positive light.

Have you been dealing with any mental health issues as a result of this isolation?

Luboku: I think an important strategy is to keep a routine, and follow your normal rituals as best you can. Everyone needs structure and if you can hold onto some form of it I think that’s half the battle.

What have you been doing to manage your mental state (e.g. meditation, yoga, writing music etc).

Luboku: Exercise! Get out, go for a run, play with the dogs. Whatever gets your heart pumping and the endorphins flowing. (And don’t forget to keep a safe distance from others!).

Have you tried collaborating with other artists online, and if that is a yes, do you feel this has helped you feel less isolated & confined?

Luboku: For sure, the music industry has taken a hit since all of this began, but the silver lining is a door of creativity being opened up. I’ve had a few sessions so far but I’m looking forward to what else is yet to come. It’s a great way to stay connected through all of this.

Do you have any words of wisdom that you would like to share with fellow artists and your fans?

Luboku: Stay safe, be kind to one another and recognise that while this is a devastating time, things will return to normal eventually. I think it’s important to stay connected to your community and friends so when this is over we can smoothly transition back to a place of normality.

What is your go-to track for ‘Feeling Good’?
