A cold and wet spring evening in Sydney failed to match the heat of RÜFÜS DU SOL’s latest album, as the band launched their new nine-track record to a crowd fans, family, and industry members.

After braving the cold weather and choppy waters being ferried out to ‘The Island’ in Sydney harbour in October, the crowd got to enjoy the band’s new album ‘SOLACE’, with a full album play through. By all looks and sounds, RÜFÜS DU SOL have another success on their hands, with the crowd loving the driving beats and vocals of Tyrone Lindqvist. Staying true to their magic formula, fans are in store for some dance floor bangers scattered amongst heartfelt indie dance numbers, with a mix of live instrumentation and EDM blended together. .

On top of that, we got to hear from the band in a 20-minute interview. Speaking about the long, 18 month journey to create the album, Tyrnoe, Jon, and James spoke of the work being a deeper dive into their inner selves. The interview also gave an insight into the behind the scenes making, with everything from a Shaman to ripping apart a coconut being used in the making ‘SOLACE’.

The trio then came out and ripped up the DF with a DJ set to leave those lucky enough to attend ringing ears and sore legs. ‘SOLACE’ releases on October 19th, with the band planning a tour of Australia “early next year”, but North American fans can catch them around the country later this month – see dates below and then click here for ticketing info!
