‘So Much Power’ is the debut ep from a Vietnamese newcomer who calls himself Kidfue (pronounced “kid-few”), and I have to say it is quite an impressive little six-track collection of tunes that move between electro hip-hop, to dreamy atmospherics, chill-wave and experimental electronica with an effortless ease. I reckon we all need to keep an eye on this guy.

“Dissecting and analyzing music has been a part of my life since I was a kid, I picked up a copy of Ableton a few years ago and never looked back. It’s tough to place my work in a more specific genre than just “electronic” music, but I will say that I draw a lot of inspiration from the experimental and often accidental sound design of artists like Flume and Galimatias, but also from the warmth and nostalgia of older soul & hip hop jams.” – Kidfue
