This year has undoubtedly been the year of female domination in music. As you can see, 60% of my favourite albums this year come from the creative minds of a women. Each one has provided a body of work that is strong and reflective of their womanhood, so I thank them for sharing that with the world.

However, album of the year was so easy for me to decide because it was such a powerful record, and an important piece of musical history. Kendrick Lamar’s ‘DAMN.’ owned 2017, as the modern-day poetic genius used his music to take a stand. If you haven’t listened to it or watched the videos, let this be your call to action.
