Uh! I am living for this girl! You may not know her name but let me tell you, she is in some veeeeeery good company. 20-year-old British R&B singer Jorja Smith actually found fame a few months ago when she featured on Drake’s track ‘Get It Together’ off his latest album, “More Life”.
Today, the urban beauty has released her brand new single ‘On My Mind’ and it has me jumping for joy. The girl is a class act with a refined hip-hop sound to really establish her as a female player in the game.
This is a collaborative track with UK producer Preditah playing with those 90s synth beats, similar in sound and feel to Craig David’s ‘Fill Me In’. Can those two actually collab please!
Smith’s vocals are so sleek with a twang much like the late Amy Winehouse in same ways. Let’s just say Smith is the perfect amalgamation of R&B-soul with that street flavour.
The video also dropped which is a really simply house party kind of vibe with Smith surrounded by close friends. Just the way this is a feel-good song, so too is the clip. But that jacket though!
Jorja Smith will definitely be on your radar after pressing play on this track. I’m obsessed with her. Jump on board people!
