I’ve been a Melbourne girl for nine years now and I’ve become all too familiar with our beloved live music venues. In all of my quick trips to Sydney though, I’ve never been to Oxford Art Factory (the OAF) even though I’ve heard amazing things about it. Finally, Friday night I was able to make the OAF a reality all the while enjoying some really amazing music from some up and coming artists.

Rare Finds has teamed up once again with OXJAM to bring Sydneysiders a month-long bout of music in the efforts to raise money against poverty. I mean, what a concept. Gigs for good. I love it. Gig #17 had a rather impressive line-up including The Harry Heart Chrysalis, MOZA and The Khanz all of which brought their A-game to a sold out OAF Gallery Bar.

Good vibes is what I was looking for on my first Friday night out at the OAF and I certainly got that. Drinks were flowing, pizza was on the ready and the tunes were out in full force. Earthy electronic melodies oozed from MOZA as the duo powered through a killer set. They were a great way to start my night. Taking the headline spot were The Khanz and damn these guys are weird, but weird in such a groovy way. They got us dancing and vibing to the very end, even surprising us with a mash-up of Kelis’ ‘Milkshake’ and The Black Keys’ ‘Lonely Boy’. Serious genius musical stylings with this one.

Next Friday night be sure to check out party #18 featuring artists like Hot Spoke, Ross Henry and Babaganouj get your tickets here
