This is the first offering from Yuuca, a five-piece band from Brisbane, and while they are currently shrouded in mystery, one thing can be certain: they are filling the empty void where Snakadaktal and New Navy once sat, and they are doing it extremely well.
‘Breathe’ is a term that perfectly describes this song; it’s fluttery dream rock that transitions smoothly between verse and chorus and as cliché as this sounds, it feels like a breathe of fresh air.
The minimal verse driven by snare rolls and guitar riffs morph into the chorus as the layered guitars and synths create a bed of easy listening bliss. The track then spins into an instrumental haze of guitar and gliding synths.
