If you’re an avid festival goer, applying sunscreen should be an integral part of your pre-festival ritual.

Since the summer of 2013, skin cancer awareness movement, Pretty Shady, has been on a mission to stop skin cancer, one summer at a time.

Recently Pretty Shady set up camp at Laneway festival in Sydney where they selected a handful of random punters as they passed by the Pretty Shady tent throughout the day, and took three photos of their skin; the first pic using a Non-UV lens (what you can see with the naked eye), the second using a UV lens (showing the sun’s damage on the skin), and lastly a shot with a UV lens of someone wearing sunscreen, proving just how well sunscreen can protect against the harsh Australian sun – the results speak for themselves.

How do you think your skin would have looked after Laneway this year?

Be part of the generation that stops skin cancer one summer at a time by remembering to slap on some sunscreen as part of your pre-festival preparations.
