The 2014 Splendour in the Grass is on fast approach and just recently the Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) announced they’ll be hosting their own stage at this years festival.
One of the acts named to be playing their stage is a name that is on everyone’s lips of late, Nicole Millar, and we dropped her a line last week to ask what her very first CD purchase was.
My first ever CD I ever bought was by the Spice Girls; I actually found it the other day when I was cleaning up my room. I remember as a little girl when my friends and I would dress up as the Spice Girls I always wanted to be Baby Spice, but my friends would always make me be Ginger Spice…
I don’t really listen to the Spice Girls anymore but I am loving MØ’s cover of their track ‘Say You Will Be There’.
If their music had influenced mine in anyway it would have to be that it’s just a fun album of catchy pop music; I just Google image searched them – hmmm maybe I might have to up my costume game
Here is MØ covering the Spice Girls‘ ‘Say You Will Be There’
And now here’s a tune you’ll certainly be hearing at Splednour in a few weeks time, it is Nicole Millar‘s ‘Taken’ featuring XNDRJ on production – who knows, maybe she’ll even bust out her own Spice Girls cover
