Young Muscle is a new collaborative effort between Adelaide buddies Ash Wilson, Adam Cope and Oli Kirk, designed to help give local artists a bit of a push, in what is a very tough industry to break.
Over the past two years these boys have brought countless acts to Adelaide with their regular Friday night events at Cats, including Chet Faker, Flume, Tokimonsta, Bleeding Knees Club, DZ Deathrays, Violent Soho, Jagwar Ma, Gold Panda, BadBadNotGood, Classix and Wave Racer.
With a strong basis in booking and promotion, and with one of the team being part of Adelaide three-piece Flamingo (Oli Kirk), the friends saw a space in the Adelaide music scene and a lack of recognition for many local acts – in comes Young Muscle.
Young Muscle will be hosting an official launch party at Tenth & Gibson warehouse on July 19th, featuring live performances by their roster-kids Archers, Flamingo and Skies, as well as DJ sets from Ferris and Holy Models.
So if you’re in the area, head on down to show them some support, and if you’re part of an upcoming Adelaide-bred band, be sure to track down the boys at the party, and introduce yourself.
