Cut Copy: Let Me Show You [New Single]

While you were sleeping, Cut Copy unveiled an official recording of their brand-spanking new single ‘Let Me Show You;’ the first taste of what they have planned for their Zonoscope follow-up.

‘Let Me Show You’ is a thumping, 1980s electronic disco jam that borders on the psychedelic. This tune would easily find a home over at the DFA Records camp.

Sounds like: Shit RobotThe Rapture and LCD Soundsystem

Oh dear, I think this is where Cut Copy and I part company. At their best they’ve always had a knack for great dance songs with strong melodies but this is a) too slow b) too house-y c) goes nowhere d) the vocals are really, really weak. I don’t think I can find a single redeeming feature.

I’m not sure if I’m more disappointed by this or the new Factory Floor track.
