Moderat: Bad Kingdom [New Single & Video]

Moderat is a collaborative electro project that began in 2002 between ambient electro-pop producer Apparat (Sascha Ring) and subterranean-bass duo Modeselektor (Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary).

The project had a few creative disagreements on how they were going to work, which then led to a seven year wait between forming and releasing their first full length album in 2009. The German lads return after four years with their second studio record titled II. Below we have its first single, ‘Bad Kingdom.’

The video features mind-blowing illustrations, pieced together under the direction of Pfadfinderei. ‘Bad Kingdom’ is an infectious piece that creates a very comfortable atmosphere. As the song comes to a close however, you find yourself feeling a little off – like someone has stolen a treasured, sentimental item from you:
