M83: New Album Teaser [Video]

French electro producer Anthony Gonzalez better known by stage moniker M83, is soon set to unleash the follow-up to his highly acclaimed Saturdays = Youth LP. So much so that he has sent out a little teaser/preview clip to get us frothing.

No information regarding the album’s title or even a release date have yet surfaced. However, Gonzalez did mention recently that it will be “very very very epic”. The double album will feature a collaboration with Zola Jesus (Beck is also rumoured to be making an appearance) and is inspired “mostly by dreams”.

The clip in question is titled ‘Echoes…’:

The Falls Festival 2011: Line Up

The organisers of The Falls Music & Art Festival have just this morning released a small taste of what they have in store for this year’s event. The first artists to be confirmed are:

The festival will once again be taking place over New Years Eve 2011/2012. It will be held over 4 days in Victoria and 3 days in Tasmania. To be in the running for a ticket, you do need to enter the ballot so be sure to get onto this as soon as possible!

Bombay Bicycle Club: A Different Kind of Fix

Crouch End’s very own indie-folk pop crew Bombay Bicycle Club are back with LP number three,  A Different Kind of Fix.

True Blood: Neko Case & Nick Cave [Zombies Cover]

Last night, the long awaited fourth season of the successful TV series, True Blood premiered on HBO. To coincide with the launch of the new season, the station also released a track from the forthcoming True Blood – Volume Three Soundtrack.

The track is a reinterpretation of The Zombies’ classic 1964 hit, ‘She’s Not There’ by American singer-songwriter Neko Case, in collaboration with the legendary Nick Cave.

Washed Out: Amor Fati [New Music]


Lo-fi chillwave producer Ernest Greene (aka Washed Out) has unveiled another tune from his forthcoming debut LP, Within and Without. The two already released tracks are below. In less than a month we’ll be able to cop a full listen of the record – no doubt we’ll be sporting many excitement boners closer to its release.

Gold Panda: MPB [Single]

UK born composer, performer and producer Derwin Panda (aka Gold Panda) is giving away yet another new song over at his website. Derwin states that “the track isn’t from a forthcoming release nor part of the Lucky Shiner album, it’s absolutely brand new.”

FM Belfast: Don't Want to Sleep [Album Stream]

Hailing from Reykjavík, Iceland comes indie-dance crew FM Belfast. With them, they bring album number two, Don’t Want to Sleep. It is the perfect follow up to their 2008 debut release, How to Make Friends. Full of energy and adventure, this infectious electro pop album is a sure fire way to get you grooving in your seat.

Lamb: 5 [Album Stream]

English electro duo Lamb are back with record number five, originally titled 5. It is the very long awaited follow-up to their 2003 release, Between Darkness and Wonder. The record sports 12 tracks, one of which being a collaborative effort with Irish singer-songwriter Damian Rice on ‘Back to Beginning’.

AutoKratz: Self Help For Beginners [Album Stream]

AutoKratz return with their second album and it’s a killer.  Self Help For Beginners is the follow-up to 2009’s Kitsuné released LP, Animal. It boasts a heavy mix of collaborative tracks featuring New Order bassist Peter Hook, Primal Scream guitarist Andrew Innes and Primal Scream/Kasabian producer, Jagz Kooner.

The LP comes from the London duo’s own recently launched label, Bad Life. You can stream the entire thing right now over at 3VOOR12.

The album dropped yesterday and you can get a digital download from iTunes or order your own hard copy from RecordStore. Both versions come with bonus material.

Azari & III: Manic [New Music]

Canada’s disco quartet, Azari & III have a new single on the way. Called ‘Manic’, it’s full of funky grooves and out on July 24.



The group’s debut album (cover art above) is due for release on August 1. Stay tuned for more deets.

They are doing a bunch of European shows between now and August, get all the dates form their tour page.

The folks at Vibe Hotels and Sony Music have collaborated to produce a sweet compilation of tunes perfect to vibe out to, some may say.

AllSaints Basement Sessions: Jacques Renault [Interview]

Jacques Renault is a New Yorker/DJ/producer initially famed for his co-production work as Runaway on the world famous DFA Records.

Now, however, Jacques is equally known for his remix abilities (including his rework of Midnight Magic‘s ‘Beam Me Up’ – a huge dance-floor hit) and his now-firmly-established record label On The Prowl.

As part of AllSaints Clothing‘s ongoing Basement Sessions project,  Chris Tubbs chats with Mr Renault about his productions, history, inspirations and current favourite tunes.

Just this week, Jacques unleashed a remix of Breakbot’s ‘Fantasy’ for his EP – released via Ed Banger on June 20. Jacques Renault x Breakbot, the ultimate funk and disco collaboration. Stream it for good times:

Ford & Lopatin: MASTERSOFZOOLOGY / Channel Pressure [Album Stream]

American electro duo Ford & Lopatin (formerly known as GAMES) dropped their debut LP under new monkier Channel Pressure. Last weekend, they released the below mix for the Oki-Ni’s Mix Series – essentially a platform for Oki-Ni to showcase some of their favourite acts each week, via FREE downloadable podcasts.
