Anyone who was smart enough to buy tickets to any of Pnau’s shows knows exactly what I’m talking about when I say, FUCK YESSSSSSSSSS!!!! THEY’RE BACK!!!!

I’ve been a Pnau fan for 10 years and their earlier recordings milestone my move from Perth to Melbourne. As monumental as that time was for me, so too are the tracks from this group.

It’s been a long time coming for me to see them live and boy am I grateful I got to see them two days in a row. Their national tour started in Melbourne and it was a heaving hot rave where one and all unleashed, letting the music and performances dazzle us all night long.

Opening with my absolute favourite track ‘Wild Strawberries’ was the perfect way to get the vibes pumping, but the night escalated quickly as banger after banger rolled on. Luckily for us, Kira Divine is touring with the boys and hot damn, she is just the icing on the cake. The woman is fierce and got some serious retro swag going on.

It comes as no surprise that it became even more lit when ‘Chameleon’ blasted through the speakers at the half-way point. You’d think it was the peak of the night, but it wasn’t. Pnau kept taking us higher with notable tracks ‘Come Together’, ‘No More Violence’, ‘Sad’, ‘Baby’, ‘With You Forever’, ‘Changes’ and closing with ‘Embrace’. I’ve never heard a crowd as loud as this. It’s as if it all became white noise; truly amazing but also, my ears are still ringing lol.

With over a decade of incredible music the sky’s the limit for Pnau but, I must stress that this is a band you need to see live. The depth of the productions and rich sounds will penetrate you and leave you totally addicted to bass. Thank God I got my second fix at Hot Dub Wine Machine!

For tickets to one of their headline shows head here, otherwise you can catch them on the final legs of the Hot Dub Wine Machine tour or, Groovin The Moo.
